Malayalam Words, Spacing, and Punctuation in InScript
Words add transitions; sentences add spacing and punctuation. Treat both as part of the target instead of pausing only for Malayalam letters.

A word is a sequence of transitions
Knowing each key separately does not guarantee smooth words. Fluency depends on transitions: consonant to vowel sign, lower row to home row, and normal key to shifted key. When a word causes a pause, identify the two-key transition around the pause and repeat that fragment before retrying the word.
Begin with patterns where only one consonant changes, then move to common words containing clusters and chillus. This controls difficulty without reducing practice to meaningless repetition.
Spaces are part of accuracy
Press Space once at each displayed word boundary. Extra or missing spaces change the text sequence even if every Malayalam grapheme is correct. Keep the thumb relaxed and return the hand to its anchor after the space.
Do not use repeated spaces to create visual alignment. Malayalam web text wraps according to the browser, so line breaks on your screen may differ from another device without changing the target.
Punctuation finishes the sentence
The current sentence exercises use familiar punctuation such as the full stop. Malayalam digits are the direct number-row outputs. For ASCII punctuation, switch briefly to the English-India layer with CapsLock, type the mark, then return to Malayalam.
- Read the entire target once before starting.
- Group the sentence into short phrases, but type the exact spaces shown.
- Repeat the slowest phrase separately before making another timed attempt.

Common mistakes
Pausing after every visible grapheme.
Better approach: Practice two- and three-key transitions until a word becomes a coordinated movement.
Ignoring the final punctuation mark.
Better approach: Scan the end of the target before starting and include punctuation in the last phrase.
Adding a second space after a full stop out of habit.
Better approach: Match the displayed target exactly; web text normally uses one space.
Troubleshooting
- A sentence stops advancing at a blank-looking position.
- Check for a required space, joiner, or combining mark at the current grapheme.
- Comma or full stop does not appear on the Malayalam layer.
- Use CapsLock to select the English-India layer, type the ASCII punctuation, then return to Malayalam.
- Wrapping makes the target seem different.
- Browser line wrapping is visual; follow characters and spaces rather than matching line endings.
