Practice text and public use

You can use the public typing practice without creating an account. Text entered into the core exercise is evaluated in your browser against the displayed target. We do not intentionally send the actual practice text you type to Firebase Analytics, Cloud Firestore, or an IndicTyping application server. Aggregate events may include versioned learning-pack, practice-locale, layout, comparison, scoring, and exam identifiers plus target length, level identifier, elapsed time, and calculated performance values.

Analytics

If you select “Allow analytics,” we use analytics to understand which pages and lessons are used, diagnose reliability issues, and improve the learning sequence. Google may then use analytics identifiers, local storage, or cookies. Analytics storage is denied by default and remains denied when you select “Essential only.” We do not intentionally include the target passage or free-form content of your keystrokes in analytics events. With analytics allowed, this browser also stores coarse first/last visit dates so we can measure repeat use and 28-day returns without an account identifier; choosing “Essential only” removes that record. When a reviewed product experiment is active, analytics may also receive the categorical experiment key, assigned variant, assignment source, and UI location after that variant is shown. Experiment parameters cannot control payments, access, scoring, privacy, or authentication. Analytics reports are not sold by IndicTyping.

Early-access and institutional-pilot requests

If you submit the optional product-interest form, IndicTyping stores the optional name and required email address you provide, the selected learner or institutional plan, structured answers about your goal, exam timing, willingness to pay, organisation, role, learner-count range, or pilot priority as applicable, and a record of your explicit contact consent. We use this information to assess demand and contact you about that request and closely related product research. Submitting the form does not create an account, order, payment, invoice, or contract.

The form is stored through an IndicTyping server in Cloud Firestore; public browser rules do not allow direct lead reads or writes. Basic anti-abuse controls include bounded structured fields, a honeypot, same-origin checks, and idempotent request handling. If analytics is separately allowed, the browser may report only categorical outcomes such as the selected offer, request type, source, and success or failure—never the submitted name, email address, or organisation name. Interest records are marked for deletion after 12 months by default. You can withdraw contact consent or request earlier deletion by emailing the address listed below.

Advertising and AdSense

When advertising is enabled for a deployment, Google AdSense may select, deliver, measure, and protect ads. Google and its partners may use cookies, local storage, IP-derived location, device information, and non-cookie identifiers. Depending on your region, settings, and consent status, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. Advertising code requires explicit deployment configuration and a separate, Google-certified consent-management integration; it is not loaded from an application-code publisher-ID fallback. This site's analytics preference control does not grant advertising consent and is not presented as a certified advertising consent platform. Ads are kept away from active typing, login, profile, and account-management screens. An active Pro/Supporter ad-free entitlement also suppresses eligible completion-page ad slots; an unresolved access check fails closed by suppressing the slot.

Cookies, consent, and your choices

Account access, correction, and deletion

Signed-in users can open the Progress page to download a JSON export of saved sessions, clear saved practice history without deleting the sign-in account, or request permanent deletion of an eligible sign-in account. Account deletion requires a recent sign-in and a server-side check for retained purchase and access records; those financial records are not part of learning-history deletion. Accounts with retained records use a mediated closure process so ownership is not orphaned. If a self-service action is unavailable or you need another correction or access request, email us from the address associated with the account; we may need to verify the request. Provider-controlled analytics or advertising data remains subject to Google's own tools and policies.

Premium diagnostics and reports

When a signed-in learner with an eligible active entitlement requests premium diagnostics, an IndicTyping server verifies the Firebase ID token and current entitlement, then reads that account's saved session records for the entitled 30, 90, or 365-day reporting window. It derives aggregate speed, accuracy, consistency, practice-frequency, mode, active-time, and tutorial-pass metrics. The selected lookback is split into two consecutive periods for trend comparison; the server does not read an extra period beyond the entitled limit and does not combine sessions produced under a different versioned metric context. The diagnostic response and optional formatted CSV omit the account email and user ID, session/document IDs, level titles, target passages, custom text, typed input, and raw keystrokes. The CSV contains aggregate metrics and versioned learning-context identifiers only. Reports are generated on request and are not described as official exam results or pass predictions.

Premium reporting is a convenience feature. Every signed-in learner can still download the complete JSON privacy export of their own saved sessions and can clear that learning history without a premium entitlement. Account closure remains subject to the retained-record policy described above.

Payment and entitlement data

Payments are currently disabled. If paid access opens later, a purchase will require a verified account so the access period can be linked to the purchaser. IndicTyping may then retain an order identifier, selected offer and price snapshot, amount and currency, tax treatment, gateway and payment-status identifiers, signed-event audit digest, refund status, and entitlement dates. A hosted payment provider—not an IndicTyping form—will handle card, UPI, bank, or wallet credentials; we do not plan to store those credentials. Final provider details and retention terms will be disclosed before checkout is enabled.

Retention, security, and transfers

Data is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described, account operation, security, or legal obligations; provider retention periods can vary with configuration. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service is risk-free. Google and other providers may process data outside your country under their applicable transfer mechanisms.

Children and external links

IndicTyping is a general educational tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. External sites are governed by their own privacy practices.
