Use a laptop or desktop with a physical keyboard for typing practice. You can read the guides on your phone. The on-screen keyboard shows key positions; it is a reference, not a touch keyboard. Free lessons and practice do not require an account.

IndicTyping maps supported physical keys to Malayalam inside its exercises, so you can start here without installing an input tool. To use InScript in a document or another app, enable a Malayalam InScript input method on your computer and select it in that app.

Choose this course if you want or need to learn fixed Malayalam key positions for regular computer typing. Phonetic input lets you write using English spellings, and voice input is another option for occasional writing. You do not have to learn InScript just to send a Malayalam message.

You will practise the typing skills used in letters, notes, and longer text: keys, character combinations, words, and passages. Practical document exercises are planned. The current course does not teach document formatting or office software.
