CPCT — Choosing InScript or Remington GAIL

The CPCT rulebook dated 2016 lists Hindi Unicode typing with Remington (GAIL) or InScript. It does not name one of these as the preferred choice. Check the current candidate instructions before deciding which layout to prepare with. If you already type comfortably with an eligible layout, build consistency before considering a switch. If both are new, try a short introductory exercise on each before choosing a regular practice routine.
Before a session, type a short sample and compare the output with the chart for the layout you selected. Check common letters, vowel signs and shifted keys. Practise using the same keyboard mapping throughout an attempt. An exercise labelled Remington is not, by its name alone, proof that it matches Remington GAIL.
