Read the label on the result. Typing tools can count space-separated words, characters, graphemes or groups of five characters. They may also handle errors and time differently. Two results labelled words per minute are not automatically comparable. A five-character typing rate should not be presented as the official CPCT net word rate.
Compare your own attempts using the same passage, keyboard layout, timing settings and scoring method. Keep a short note of repeated mistakes. Look for a steady improvement in accuracy and consistency rather than changing settings to obtain a larger number. If you pause, restart or correct text differently, remember that the new result may describe a different kind of attempt.
The published CPCT assessment formula uses SPACE to separate words and calculates net words per minute from correct words divided by time taken in minutes. The Hindi typing instructions also explain that submission time and extra spaces matter. These references do not specify every detail of word matching or rounding. A practice result must therefore state its own method clearly. This collection does not establish an official scoring implementation or qualifying threshold.
